We start this course with out-of-the-kit effects that are the staple of professional make-up artists. We will help students learn their craft in this hands-on course that covers two and three-dimensional techniques to simulate injuries and other effects. Our team of professional make-up artists will walk students through the process of applying and colouring foam gelatine prosthetic appliances, silicone GFA’s, foam latex prosthetic appliances and Pros-aide transfers.

we will cover

The course starts by teaching you the real techniques of this industry and offers you an in-depth path to simulate different special make-up effects through the use of numerous techniques.

It then continues with the creation of scratches and wounds, scars, cuts and lacerations, burns etc., the creation of realistic temporary tattoos up to the application of prosthetics and their colouring to create a real character.

In this course you will learn how to use different materials for creating dramatic and realistic illusions and looks:

Creating bruises using the right stippling technique
Applying different types of prosthetics to create a "character"
Creating cuts and wounds using special silicone products
Creating scratches and grazes using a black stipple sponge or a brush
Creating two and three-dimensional scars
Creating entrance and exit bullet holes with wax
Applying latex foam and gelatine prosthetics to simulate injuries
Different colouring techniques for special make-up effects (using regular brushes and airbrush tool)
Precise protocol of application and removal of SFX make-up
